Vidya Academy of Science and Technology Technical Campus, Kilimanoor organized a Career Counseling Programme on 11th April, 2023. The programme started at 9:30AM with a prayer song by the students of VAST TC. After the prayer the program was formally inaugurated by Principal Dr. T Mathavaraj Ravikumar with a welcome speech. The session was handed over to the Career Guru, Dr P R Venkitaraman. He emphasized on the 4Ws and 1H- WWWWH. The acronym of WWWWH can be expanded as below:
W- Why- “Why we need to study”
W- When- “When we need to study”
W- What- “What we need to study”
W- where- “Where we need to study”
H- How- “How we need to study”
The expert explained the importance of the above acronym and made sure that the students understand the significance of selecting a strong course to have a secured life. He mentioned that the most sustainable courses are: Engineering, Medicine,Paramedical courses and Management.He suggested that degree courses are more welcomed than diploma courses He gave the statistics of almost all the courses available. It was an interactive session as students queried about the courses and the expert answered the query with facts and figures. The parents also asked the expert about various courses and clarified their doubts. Participants actively participated throughout the session.
The session ended at 12:30PM. A memento was presented to the Career Guru as a token of gratitude by the Director Brig. K S Shaji and Principal Dr. T Mathavaraj Ravikumar. The session was coordinated by Mr. Lenin Babu(Asst.Prof,CE) - Admission Coordinator and Mr.Ajayakumar A G(Asst.Prof,ME) - Event coordinator under the support of area coordinators Ms.Ansha Shakeer(Asst.Prof,CSE-Kadakkal area) ,Mr.Arun K.L(Asst.Prof,ME-Killimanoor area), Ms.Pooja M.S (TI,CE-Kottarakkara area), Mr.Midhun S.S(Asst.Prof,ME-Pallikkal area), Mr.Suraj S.R (Asst.Prof,CSE,Varkala area), Ms.Neeraja Shenoy(Asst.Prof,ECE-Pirappancode area), Ms.Sreejith.S.Nair(Asst.Prof,ME-Anchal area) and Ms.Rini Madhavan Rajeev(Asst.Prof,CE-Attingal area). A total of 507 participants participated in the session ,out of which there were 429 +2 students and 78 parents.
