As part of Onam celebrations, the NSS Unit of Vidya Academy of Science and Technology Technical Campus (VAST TC) organized a series of kindness-oriented programs under the title “Omanikkanoru Onakkalam”. The objective of the program was to spread joy and compassion among the underprivileged sections of society during the festive season.
The activities conducted were:
1. Donation of New Dresses – New dresses were donated to the mothers of Karunalayam Old Age Home, Attingal.
2. Onam Lunch – A special Onam feast was served to the residents of Karunalayam.
3. Distribution of Onam Kits – Essential grocery kits were distributed to families in the Adopted Village.
4. Donation of Tricycles – Tricycles were donated to the children below 4 years at the Anganwadi in the Adopted Village. These tricycles bring joy and support the development of balance, coordination, and motor skills in children.
The program was inaugurated on 26th August 2025 by Dr. T. Mathavaraj Ravikumar (Principal, VAST TC). Wishes and blessings for the success of the program were conveyed by Brigadier Shaji K. S (Director, VAST TC), Mr. Chandhu (Asst. Professor, VAST TC), Mr. Sajeer A (NSS Programme Officer), and Ms. Sreelakshmi M (Assistant NSS Programme Officer).
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Volunteer Secretary Shahabas S, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, Staff, NSS volunteers, and well-wishers who contributed to the success of the program.
