The Mechanical Engineering Department of Vidya Academy of Science and Technology, Technical Campus, conducted an online Alumni meet on January 17, 2025. The event brought together alumni from the 2013-17 to 2020-24 batches, with particularly active participation from the 2015-19 and 2014-18 batches.

The meet was inaugurated by Mr. Arun K L, Head of the Department, who extended a warm welcome to the alumni. During his address, he shared updates on the department’s recent achievements, placement successes, and ongoing activities. He also encouraged the alumni to actively contribute to the department’s initiatives, particularly in areas of placement and training.The program was coordinated by Mr. Avinash G S, Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering, who fondly reflected on the 2015-19 batch and their contributions. Alumni shared their experiences and pledged support for departmental activities.

Mr. Thoufeek from the 2017-21 batch, currently working in robotics, expressed enthusiasm for supporting the department through guest lectures and specialized courses. Meanwhile, Mr. Muhammed Arif, a graduate of the 2018-22 batch who is now pursuing a PhD in Saudi Arabia, emphasized the value of add-on courses in boosting employability. Adding to the camaraderie, Mr. Midhun S S, Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering, shared cherished memories with the attendees.The alumni unanimously expressed their willingness to support the department’s future endeavors, reaffirming their connection to their alma mater. The event concluded with a renewed commitment to fostering stronger ties between the department and its alumni, underscoring the importance of their involvement in shaping the next generation of mechanical engineers.
