Mr. Arun K. L., Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Vidya Academy of Science and Technology Technical Campus, Kilimanoor, delivered an invited lecture on the topic “Artificial Intelligence–Enabled Process Optimization in Additive Manufacturing: A Smart Path to Sustainable Production” during the One Day Seminar on “AI at Work – Smart Way to Manufacturing: Challenges and Way Forward”, organized by The Institution of Engineers (India), Kerala State Centre, in association with Government Engineering College, Barton Hill, Thiruvananthapuram, on 7th October 2025.
The session emphasized the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Additive Manufacturing (AM) to enhance process optimization, precision, and sustainability in modern production systems. Mr Arun elaborated on how AI-driven algorithms and data analytics are revolutionizing manufacturing by reducing energy consumption, minimizing material waste, and achieving superior product quality, thereby paving the way toward smart and sustainable manufacturing.
