The Department of Civil Engineering at Vidya Academy of Science and Technology Technical Campus (VAST TC) successfully organized a one-day workshop titled “PRISM QUEST 2026” on Total Station Technology for the second-year Civil Engineering diploma students of S N Polytechnic, Kottiyam. The workshop was conducted on 13th March 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., providing participants with valuable practical exposure to modern surveying techniques.
The session was handled by Ms. Adheena V S, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, and Mr. Yeswanth B Nair, Trade Instructor, Department of Civil Engineering. The workshop focused on introducing students to the fundamentals of Total Station technology, its working principles, and its applications in modern civil engineering projects. Participants also received hands-on training, enabling them to understand field surveying procedures and data collection using the equipment.
The session was effectively supported by student assistants Mr. Arish Krishnan (S4 CE), Mr. Akhil M Ramesh (S4 CE), and Ms. Aswathy Vinai (S4 CE), who helped demonstrate the practical aspects of the technology and guided the participants during the hands-on activities.
