International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievement of Women. This year’s theme for the International Day, 'Embrace Equity'. The theme focuses on a gender-equal world that is free from bias, stereotypes and discrimination. A world that leads to a diverse, equitable and inclusive nature. A society where difference is valued and celebrated. Therefore, together we can work for women’s equality. International Women’s Day was celebrated at Vidya Academy of Science & Technology Technical Campus on behalf of Staff Welfare Committee on 8th march 2023 at 1.30 pm at Civil Seminar Hall. At the beginning of the program, Dr Jayanth L S (HOD Dept of AS) render a short speech on Women’s Day and she addresses all the participants to the program. The first event was an inspirational talk by Ms. Anitha Vijayan (Trustee Co ordinator) and after that some cultural activities were conducted from faculties side. Following that some fun events were designed and of course to have fun for all. At the end of the event, a prize distribution ceremony for the winners in the programme was conducted.
