SCHOLARSHIP DISTRIBUTION FUNCTION 2026

Vidya Academy of Science & Technology Technical Campus (VAST TC), Kilimanoor, organized the Scholarship Distribution Function 2026 on 17 July 2026 at the college lobby to recognize academic excellence and provide financial assistance to deserving students. The programme reaffirmed the institution's commitment to ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder students from pursuing quality technical education.

The function commenced with a prayer and was attended by members of the Vidya International Charitable Trust (VICT), management representatives, faculty members, parents, scholarship recipients, students and guests.

The gathering was welcomed by Dr. Ansamma John, Principal, VAST TC, who highlighted the institution's commitment to quality engineering education and its continued efforts to support deserving students through scholarships. She noted that the scholarship programme has become one of the institution's flagship initiatives, benefiting a large number of students every year.

The programme was presided over by Sri. Gireesh Kumar, Chairman, Vidya International Charitable Trust (VICT). In his presidential address, he reiterated the Trust's commitment to promoting academic excellence through sustained scholarship support and encouraged students to make the best use of the opportunities provided to them.

The function was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Mr. Pradeep Gopal, Executive Director, Geo Chem Middle East, Dubai. Drawing from his four decades of experience in the global oil and gas industry, he encouraged students to pursue excellence with determination, integrity and perseverance. He appreciated the efforts of Vidya International Charitable Trust in empowering students through financial assistance and urged the scholarship recipients to utilize the opportunity to build successful careers and contribute meaningfully to society.

Felicitation addresses were delivered by Sri. Raju Karunakaran, Executive Member, VICT; Sri. Neelakandan Javaharial, Southern Regional Coordinator, VICT; Sri. Mukundan N., Scholarship Committee Convenor; Brig. K. S. Shaji, Director, VAST TC; Mr. Devarajan R, Project Director; Mr. Suresh Lal, Executive Director; Dr. Shalij P R, Academic Director and Sri. V. Prasad, PTA President, who congratulated the scholarship recipients and appreciated the institution's continued scholarship initiatives.

The highlight of the programme was the distribution of scholarships to students admitted during the 2025–26 academic year. Scholarships were awarded under the Vidya Merit-cum-Means Full Fee Scholarship, Vidya Merit-cum-Means Half Fee Scholarship, Vidya Merit-cum-Means B.Tech Lateral Entry Full Fee Scholarship, Vidya Merit-cum-Means B.Tech Lateral Entry Half Fee Scholarship, and the Vidya–AICTE Fee Waiver Scheme. Altogether, 40 students received scholarships under these schemes.

The recipients of the Vidya Merit-cum-Means Full Fee Scholarship were Surya Nandana S. (Civil Engineering); Adhish Vijayakumar, Abhin J. R. and Akash G. S. (Mechanical Engineering); and Akshayjith A. S., Vimal Ram L., Amal Raj S., Parvathy S. Kumar, Subin Raj S., Siva Suvi Kumar, Athvaja V. S., Anaka R. and Rohitha Rajesh (Computer Science & Engineering).

The Vidya Merit-cum-Means Half Fee Scholarship was awarded to Asna S., Azif J., Fathima Y. and Prardhana Pradeep (Civil Engineering); Aromal Krishna M. (Mechanical Engineering); Anantha Krishnas, Midhun M., Salmanul Haris D. S., Niveditha V. R. and Abijith M. S. (Computer Science & Engineering); Sreya A. S., Shredha A. D. and Parvathy B. (Electronics & Communication Engineering); and Vaishnav R. (Electronics & Communication Engineering – Management Quota).

The Vidya Merit-cum-Means B.Tech Lateral Entry Full Fee Scholarship was awarded to Akhil M. Ramesh (Civil Engineering), while the Vidya Merit-cum-Means B.Tech Lateral Entry Half Fee Scholarship was presented to Devapriya D. S. (Civil Engineering) and Nisha S. J. (Computer Science & Engineering).

Under the Vidya–AICTE Fee Waiver Scheme, scholarships were awarded to Meera Goury A. S., Adithya L. D. and Fardaan Muhammed R. S. (Civil Engineering); Ananthu S., Neha B. Darsan, Hariharan S., Arjun S., Aswin V. and Diyana Parveen J. S. (Computer Science & Engineering); and Ganesh Senan B. (Mechanical Engineering).

Following the scholarship distribution, prizes were presented to the winners of STAP 2025–26 (Science and Technology Awareness Programme) in recognition of their outstanding performance and innovative talents, reaffirming the institution's commitment to nurturing scientific curiosity among school students.

The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Ms. Anitha Vijayan, Trustee Coordinator, VAST TC, who expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, Chairman, members of the management, representatives of the Vidya International Charitable Trust, faculty members, parents, students, media personnel and everyone who contributed to the successful conduct of the programme.

The function concluded with the National Anthem, marking the successful completion of an event that celebrated academic excellence and reaffirmed the commitment of Vidya Academy of Science & Technology Technical Campus and the Vidya International Charitable Trust towards promoting inclusive and equitable higher education through meaningful scholarship support.
