The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Vidya Academy of Science and Technology successfully organized an industrial visit to the Thenmala Hydroelectric Project on January 18, 2025. A group of 25 students from the fourth semester, accompanied by Assistant Professors Mr. Avinash and Mr. Muhammed Faisal, participated in this educational tour.

The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to hydroelectric power generation, operational mechanisms, and sustainable energy practices. The students were given a comprehensive tour of the facility, where they observed the turbines, generators, and control systems in action. They also had the opportunity to interact with the engineers at the site, who explained the intricacies of the hydroelectric project and its role in energy production.This visit proved to be a valuable learning experience, complementing the theoretical knowledge gained in the classroom. Students gained insights into the real-world applications of mechanical engineering principles and renewable energy technologies.The Department of Mechanical Engineering extends its gratitude to the management of the Thenmala Hydroelectric Project for their hospitality and to the faculty coordinators for their efforts in organizing this enriching experience.
