The Department of Civil Engineering, Vidya Academy of Science and Technology Technical Campus, Kilimanoor, organised an insightful seminar titled “Civil Career Connect” on 25 September 2026 at the CE Seminar Hall, providing S7 Civil Engineering students with valuable insights into career opportunities and professional growth. The session featured Er. Prijeeesh S, Managing Director, Rajadhani Constructors, Thiruvananthapuram, as the resource person. Drawing from his industry experience, he interacted with students on the Civil Engineering interview process, employment opportunities in government and private sectors, career growth, higher-study options, industry expectations, essential skills and emerging trends in the profession.

The programme provided students with a valuable opportunity to understand the expectations of the construction industry and gain practical perspectives on transitioning from academic life to professional practice. The resource person also highlighted the importance of developing appropriate skills and staying updated with changing industry requirements to build a successful career in civil engineering.

The interactive session encouraged students to look beyond academic qualifications and focus on professional skills, career planning and continuous learning. The programme served as an engaging platform for S7 students to connect with industry perspectives and prepare themselves for the diverse career opportunities awaiting them in the field of civil engineering.
