As part of the Pre-Induction Program for the B.Tech 2024-28 batch, the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Vidya Academy of Science and Technology conducted a community activity on August 29, 2024. Mr. Sajeer A (Assistant Professor, Department of Applied Science) served as the event coordinator, and the team members included Ms. Rejin Moncy (Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science), Ms. Shahana A H (Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science), Ms. Ashily M Baby (Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science), and Ms. Anjala S S (Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical and Electronics).

The program commenced with the NSS Anthem, followed by a welcome address by the program coordinator, Mr. Sajeer A. Then, Mr. Arun Lohithakshan (HOD, Mechanical Department) conducted an orientation session on the topic "History and Origin of NSS." This was followed by an awareness program led by the Kerala Fire and Rescue Service team (Keezhayikonam, Venjaramoodu) on fire safety, first aid, and disaster management. The session included a demonstration, led by Kerala Fire and Rescue Officers Mr. Manoj, Mr. Najimon, and Mr. Arun.

After the session, the students shared their feedback, and Ms. Shivani, a first-year student, represented the students in thanking the team. Approximately 150 students from all departments participated in the community activity NSS program.”
